What is Fitcamp Training?
Fitcamp Training is the tuition of exercise to a small number of people by a qualified and experienced coach. A Personal Trainer addresses your collective needs by placing you with individuals at a similar fitness level and creating a training program around your needs.

The trainer demonstrates exercises and mentors you through safe and effective training methods, measuring and recording progress at key milestones. Due to the interpersonal nature of Fitcamp Training, everyone collaborates on motivation and spirit to create a charged environment.

What takes place during a Fitcamp Training session?
You’ll begin with 5 minutes of warm up to wake the body and prepare it for exercise. Once warm we’ll move into the program, typically consisting of a full body workout using bands, balls, dumbbells, and your own weight, plus short periods of cardio.

This part of the session lasts 45 minutes and is followed by a cool down and 10 minutes of stretching. At the start of the program you’ll receive an initial physical assessment to gage body fat percentage, body measurements, body weight, cardio capacity and strength. Nadeen’s role is to motivate, support and instruct you through your program to improve on these stats. There are no military training techniques or shouting in Nadeen’s sessions, just well structured support.

How long is each Fitcamp session?
Each Fitcamp Training session is 60 minutes in duration. This breaks down into a 5 minute warm up, 45 minutes exercising, and 10 minutes cool down and stretching.

The session will be paced according to your group’s fitness level; with plenty of opportunity for you to turn the intensity up or down… making sure you’re challenged but not exhausted.

How many sessions do you need to see results?
Fitcamp Training programs are 6 weeks in duration and you’ll work out two or 3 times per week, depending on your choice of program. After just 3 weeks you’ll start to notice fat reduction, posture improvements, more strength, increased focus and energy, a brighter outlook and more.

What are the different Fitcamp Training levels?
Fitcamps are broken down into 4 groups so participants don’t feel overwhelmed by the pace of the group. ‘Open’ Fitcamps are for everyone, ‘Beginner’ Fitcamps are for newbies, ‘Intermediate’ is for active people, and ‘Advanced’ is for the super fit. Nadeen will help place you in the appropriate group when you meet.

Beginner level Fitcamps are for those re-introducing themselves to fitness after a long break. If you haven’t worked out for 6 months or more this is a great way to get started. You’ll work out with people at a similar level and the sessions have a steady pace, so they wont overwhelm you. By the time you’ve done one program at this level you’ll be ready for the intermediate!

Intermediate level Fitcamps are for individuals with some recent fitness experience. If you’ve trained with Nadeen before, you’re no longer a beginner. If you’ve been working out on your own or with a trainer and are looking for something different, this is a great way to switch it up. The classes are challenging but manageable.

Advanced level Fitcamps are for individuals who are very fit. Multi-functional exercises involving balance and high-intensity cardio are part of Advanced level Fitcamp. Rest periods are shorter and intensity level is higher in these sessions. You must have trained with Nadeen before in order to qualify for Advanced Fitcamp.

Open Fitcamps are for people of all different levels. Intensity is self-directed with Nadeen offering high and low alternatives to each exercise.

What if I’m unfit?
It doesn’t matter if you haven’t exercised in some time, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how quickly and positively your body will react to regular exercise. The beginner level Fitcamp is perfect for people coming back to an active lifestyle after a prolonged break.

Because groups are kept relatively small you’ll get some individual attention from Nadeen to make sure you’re on track. Nadeen also gives modifications to each exercise so you’re able to workout at a comfortable intensity. There are no military training techniques or shouting in Nadeen’s sessions, just well structured support.

Who will I be working out with?
Nadeen leads each Fitcamp session personally. Individuals with similar fitness levels are brought together from different backgrounds to form the group. If you want to bring friends to the group that’s perfectly fine, or else you can meet new friends in the program.

Where does Fitcamp take place?
Fitcamps take place outdoors (rain or shine) in 4 locations in downtown Vancouver: Ceperly Park, Second Beach in Stanley Park, Ferguson Point, and The Mill Marine Bistro in Coal Harbor.

When does the next one start?
Fitcamps are scheduled classes that run in 6-week cycles. They are available on weekday mornings and evenings, and also on Saturday mornings. Some Fitcamps are 3 sessions per weeks, and some are 2. Saturdays are available as a drop in session. Click here to view the schedule.
